Electrification Lower Senegal Valley
The project of the "Senegalese Power Supply Company SENELEC” was to allow for an economical and reliable power supply of one of the most important agricultural cultivation areas of Senegal. Thus, the power supply of the irrigation plants of the Lower Senegal Valley should be guaranteed and the demand of the trade in the cities be covered. With DM 13 millions the Reconstruction Loan Corporation (KfW) financed the extension of the energy supply grid which was only partially available in the beginning.
