In-situ filter regeneration for the removal of TNT from groundwater: application of process to an activated carbon fibre adsorber
Activated carbon fibre is a highly effective adsorbent material, but is also expensive. The resorption of pollutants by chemical means can be achieved just as effectively, and with comparable values, using granulated activated carbon. However, the original charging capacity cannot be restored once the material has been regenerated.
