ARGUS Umweltbiotechnologie GmbH was formed in 1987 as an independent company and is located in Berlin. For the past 30 years the company has been engaged in the investigation and remediation of soil and groundwater. As one of the first companies in Germany it established microbiological methods for remediation of contaminated sites, while employing more conventional methods such as pump & treat with subsequent groundwater clean-up using adsorption und desorption processes also. In-situ and on-site processes and pump & treat processes respectively are adopted depending on the state of contamination, with all technical, ecological and economical factors being considered as well. In recent years, chemical processes, such as In-Situ Chemical Oxidation (ISCO) for the accelerated remediation of highly contaminated sites have been added. ARGUS Umweltbiotechnologie GmbH has conceived, installed, operated and technically and analytically monitored more than 200 treatment plants. The cleaning processes the company has adpated for this are also used for groundwater from construction water management. In national and international projects, the company participates in the development of new or more efficient remediation processes and innovations in the field of product-integrated environmental protection; several patents result from these R&D activities.
