OPET success stories – refurbishment of historical buildings

The European Union comprises a huge, historically important heritage. Special requirements have to be fulfilled during refurbishment or renovation of monument-protected buildings. In Germany the Project Management Organisation for Biology, Energy and Ecology (BEO) aims at convincing owners by means of workshops to take advantage of energy efficient measures in order to save energy and to reduce costs.

BEO acted as project executing agency for Biology, Energy, Environment of the Federal Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Technology (BMBF) at Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH and OPET member and initiated, among others, a seminar which was integrated into the already existing training program of Forschungszentrum Jülich (see publication link)
