Passive House

Monitoring of a passive house school in timber construction

The primary school, which was built in the German city of Halle from 2012 to 2014, is characterised by a timber frame construction with cellulose insulation. Only the two staircase cores are based on reinforced concrete. The thermal insulation level of the building envelope meets passive house standards and the mechanical ventilation system ensures high air quality. After completion, the building operation was monitored.
