Electrics & Electronics

Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (VDE)

VDE, the Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies, is one of the largest technical and scientific associations in Europe. Among others the responsibilities of the Association include the ongoing development of electrotechnology, electronics, and information technology, and their related technologies; supporting the use of electrotechnology and electronics in mechanical engineering, in manufacturing and process automation, transport and medical technology, etc ; the promotion of national and international transfers of technical knowledge. The VDE is represented throughout Germany on a regional basis by 29 regional societies.

Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Precision Engineering (IOF)

The Fraunhofer IOF conducts application-oriented research in the field of optical systems engineering on behalf of its clients in industry and within publicly-funded collaborative projects. The objective is to control light, from its generation to its application. In this context, the sustainable energy-efficient use of light – "Green Photonics" – plays a special role for the Fraunhofer IOF, particularly with regard to the Fraunhofer innovation cluster.

Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration (IZM)

The Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration IZM helps companies assemble robust and reliable electronic systems and integrate these into the application environment. As part of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Fraunhofer IZM specializes in applied and industrial contract research. Fraunhofer IZM’s focus is on packaging technology and the integration of multifunctional electronics into systems.

German Association for Information Technology, Telecommunication and New Media (BITKOM)

BITKOM is the voice of the information technology, telecommunications and new media industry in Germany. Core topics of BITKOM’s political agenda are amongst others Green IT, climate protection and sustainability.

Fraunhofer Group for Light & Surfaces

The Fraunhofer Group Light & Surfaces combines the expertise of six Fraunhofer institutes. The core competences of the group include the development of coating systems and coating processes for a variety of applications, functionalization of surfaces, development of laser sources, development of micro-optical and precision mechanical systems, material processing and in optical measurement.
