UV inks take over gravure printing
To date, the stringent requirements applied to inks for use in the rotogravure printing process have precluded the use of more environmentally friendly water-based inks for this purpose. A potential solution is provided by completely solvent-free binder systems based upon acrylates and epoxy resins, which require only limited energy for drying, can be cross-linked under UV light and release only minimal emissions.
