Energy-optimised drying processes in the ceramics industry: development of in-situ heat conductors for the drying of moulds and mould sections

By the use of cast-in thermal conductors, refractory concrete components and refractory concrete-based materials can be dried under low-stress conditions. For this type of application, carbon fibres will only be suitable for temperatures up to 250°C. For higher temperatures, metal foils may be used. Special steel foil can be used for temperatures up to 1100°C.
