Extraction of diesel from plastic fuel tanks with supercritical CO2

The method developed for removal of diesel from old plastic fuel tanks successfully extracts the low-volatility contaminants with supercritical carbon dioxide. The separating method is considered environmentally friendly as the supercritical carbon dioxide is non-toxic, easily available and can be reprocessed, creating a closed CO2 circuit.
